Since all the pictures are at the moment on my phone, this is the only picture I have of my kitchen before the challenge started. I'll get the rest of the "before" pictures posted tomorrow. BTW, it already looks better. :-)

I know this has nothing to do with quilting but in the long run it will help me with my quilting. I recently found Pinterest on the net. This can be so addictive, looking at other people's prick boards and finding things you want to do or make or cook or whatever. Well, I found this challenge to get my house/flat organized in a year. I'd like to think that it won't take me the whole year but that's the idea. You don't get over whelmed with the job if you do it in baby steps. Eventually, one of these weeks will get me to my sewing room. Thing is, I need to get to my sewing room NOW!!! So, what's a girl to do? In order to get my sewing room in order, I need to get my life in order and this challenge will help me do that. One thing I noticed when reading the challenges for each week is that I'll have some idle time when they are working on things involving kids (mine are grown and don't live at home), basements and attics which I don't have and other things that don't fit with living in a flat. I'll stay with the challenge to get my kitchen up to par and then I may start varying from the challenge. Something I also found in Pinterest is a nice DIY craft/sewing table. Right now, my sewing machine is sitting on the other dining table (it's a long story which I won't go into) in my sewing room. This room has also become the junk room. I am trying to get this room organized so I can work on the quilts that I have promised. That list on my blog here is approximately 3 years old and not one of those quilts has been completed and I've added a few more to it. Once my room gets organized, I expect to get more quilts finished. This puts me back to the Organized Home Challenge 2012. I plan on posting here what I'm doing for this challenge.
